One of the higher impact features I've owned end-to-end at DraftKings has been its improved Search and Filter experience. The Casino app's Search function was initially designed by developers, and had not been updated for years in favor of other forms of lobby content discovery. To underscore this point: when I was participating in a user interview, the user was asked what they would add to the app. "A way to search for games," they replied, completely unaware that we had a Search feature.
We made it our goal to enhance the Search experience so that it could become a core path to game discoverability. We did this by adding Suggested Games both before and during the search, and also by overhauling our Search cards to accommodate larger game art and more game details. We also wanted to add a Filter so users could get even more specific results. We were successful on all counts, and Search went from being a buried and broken feature to becoming a core part of how users find and launch games.
